Digital catalogues
Digital catalogues are retro-conversion of the libraries’ printed card catalogues into online format and contain information on which materials a library holds in its physical collections.
Retro-conversion of the catalogues is based on standard requirements in terms of format and accessibility and is integrated in up-to-date online library catalogues within their respective fields and subject areas.
The basic idea behind retro-conversion it to improve the user’s access to the libraries’ physical collections while at the same time making sure that these collections are exploited by the research community.
